“The power of the collective is far greater than one. When we seek to grow and include those around us in our journey, as an equal respected participant, we build our WE culture. This is where success is created and, realized.” – Alana Fulvio
I have a simple yet powerful philosophy for any business to optimize their potential for success, and I do mean any business.
Let’s put aside strategies, resumes, fancy formulas or complex data. There are many important aspects of running a business, however, there is no greater defining factor when it comes to a companies success than it’s People.
Have you ever had a boss who was so in it for themselves that they seemed to dash the dreams of their direct reports, dominated or stifled their direct reports or their business partners? Sometimes, to the point where, it seemed, like they may have caused some of the turnover in an organization?
I have, more than once.
Studies show that the #1 reason remains why employees will leave their employer – their manager – LEADERSHIP.
Much of the time, we can identify these leaders as Me leaders, focussed primarily on their success, to the detriment and hindrance of those around them.
FACT: We can only succeed as “ME” if we take our horse blinders off, set our egos aside and get out of ourselves and look at the fact that it is in the “WE” where success is achieved. PERIOD.
Nothing is ever achieved alone. Sounds odd right? Let me paint the picture.
That pen you used to write, the pillowcase you sleep on at night to rest, the food you bought at the store to fuel your “passion”, the water that ryour shower with. It is all done by someone else. Therefore, you are never accomplishing anything, alone.
Let’s take Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos and serial innovative entrepreneur, as he builds his empires does not focus on a candidate’s skills or past experience, he focuses on the right personalities that fit well within his company‘s culture and what he can do to support them to self actualize.
However, whether or not any business is successful and profitable will depend on not only how a company capitalizes on this methodology, but how their leadership uses it, or not, as a strategy.
This simple, yet extremely important, philosophy will fuel your company and ignite your Hiring efforts.
It is only in the “WE” where we thrive and achieve success.
It does not matter which business you’re in. What you were hiring for. Who you are and what you do for a living. The bottom line for the success of any business, large or small, is your people.
The ratio of We’s to ME’s in a company is the best indicator of the power of a team and will dictate the success and profit in your life, and business. Guaranteed.
Are you a WE Leader? or is your leader a WE Leader? IF not, is it worth your profitability?
