Problem I Had: I knew that we would be doing a lot of hiring and I could try and figure out most of it myself but I knew that if I didn’t have the right help, I’d waste a significant amount of time in not only the interview process but also might hire the wrong candidate. What we reviewed: Job description to attract the right candidate Email communications we send to the selected candidates What interview questions to ask & why How to get each person from the company involved in the interview process to make the candidate feel welcome and that it’s a serious opportunity. Strategically what I took away: I didn’t realize how much the application process to interview process to on boarding sets an entire frame for how the candidate feels when interacting with the organization. The difference between everything being hacked together and them upholding a higher standard for themselves because they are joining a more organized company.
